Learning how to sail isn’t hard if you’re near water, since chances are there will be a sailing school near you. Our local school is the California Yacht Club, which sails with four-person Martin M242 boats every week. We met up with two members of the club, support boat specialist Mike George (he did the water shots for Baywatch for 13 years!), and Pease Glaser, a former sailor for the US team. Leah finds out about the different components of a sail boat, how to raise a sail, and even how …

I’m looking for a good sailing school… I would like for it to last around a month or longer but I’m having a hard time finding one that last for that amount of time.
I’m looking for one that would last for at least a month or so. It would be nice if it was near florida or the Virgin Islands, but anywhere near east coast (US) would be fine.

I am looking at going to a sailing school in the SF Bay and am wondering which governing body is better to go with. US Sailing says they are the official governing body. If so, what good is the ASA?
