I need answers ASAP, this is againts the law right?

My father is terminally ill and has numerous titles to boats and vehicles in his name, Not in my mothers. what will happen when he passes? My dad does not want to sell any of them (not many of them are in running condition) I’m just worried that my mom is going to run into alot of red tape, trying to get them off of their property.
